SOME FRIENDS FROM AMERICA ARRIVED AT THE AIRPORT AT approximately 4:10 am. After waiting for luggage for almost an hour we headed for our place. We are trying to decide where to go for the evening meal?
NO, McDONALD’S IS NOT AVAILABLE IN DHAKA! This photo was taken in Kolkata, on Park St.
So what shall we do? Well let’s go have some fuchkas.
FUCHKAS available at Probortna in Mohammadpur!
SPOTTED DOVE (Streptopelia chinensis) seen on bench at guest house in Kolkata.
HEADING FOR PARK CIRCUS! THE TROLLIES ARE STILL RUNNING ON THE STREETS OF KOLKATA, INDIA.
THIS BICYCLE IS BEING USED AS A FREIGHT-HAULER!
THESE YOUNG LADS WANTED THEIR PHOTO TAKEN WITH THEIR Yo-Yo!
IT’S BATH TIME ON THE SIDEWALK OF KOLKATA. Most anywhere you see a water source such as this you will see men bathing, especially in the morning.
McDONALD’S FAMILY RESTAURANT! This is how it is spelled in Bangla. This was the sign for McDonald’s on Park St. in Kolkata. Their fries are just as tasty as anywhere in the world, that McDonald’s has a restaurant.
ROASTED CORN-ON-THE-COB IN KOLKATA near New Market. It is not the same as corn-on-the-cob in the U.S. but has similarities. I’m not sure it is sweet corn, and also it is great with some hot spices sprinkled on the ear.
BEFORE TRAVELING TO KOLKATA I LOOKED UP SOME “BIRDINGPALS” on their website. I contacted Arka Sarkar of Calcutta and he mentioned that he planned to go to Chintamani Kar Bird Sanctuary. You can see it’s website at: http://www.kolkatabirds.com/ckbs.htm
I would like to thank Arka for the enjoyable morning with him and his birding friends. The one birder was a Pathologist, and others were workers in the laboratory. Arka is an IT worker. I decided not to wait till I had all the photos post processed and the birds identified to post. Hopefully that will come in the near future.

THIS GUARD WAS TOO LATE IN LETTING ME KNOW HE DIDN’T WANT A PHOTO TAKEN. I really would have liked a scene where he was sitting relaxed in front of the ad, but so it goes.
