OUR GUESTS FROM AMERICA ARRIVED THIS MORNING FROM THE AIRPORT!
Category: Bangladesh
ON THE 15TH WE LEFT IN THE MORNING FOR OUR EVENING FLIGHT TO BANGKOK BECAUSE OF MANY ROADS BEING CLOSED DUE TO THE BISHWA-IJTEMA which is held in Tongi North of the of the airport. When we told the police we were going to the airport they let us pass through the barricade. There were many people walkingt in the direction of the airport. Near there were van garis trying to get passengers to go on to the Ijtema.

I ATTENDED KAMAL PASHA’S WEDDING RECEPTION TODAY! I had attended his Guy Holud on Thursday. His bride, Hasina B Halim Pretty also had a Guy Holud and wedding which I was unable to attend. I think Hasina is the first person I have chatted online with and then met in person. She just returned this Winter from London. It was a fun wedding to be at, with many TTLers attending. Besides eating great Bengali food, people sitting with the Bride and Groom for photos is the main highlight of a Bengali Muslim wedding reception.

This was my first glimpse of Hasina, my friend Kamal's bride as she entered the Chowdury Community Centre for Kamal's wedding reception.!
40TH YEAR CELEBRATION FOR BANGLADESH IS TODAY! The day when the liberation war with Pakistan ended. I was 23 years old and I don’t recall seeing it in the news, but I am enjoying visiting in this country. Two of my grandsons were born here in Bangladesh. It is interesting that I am almost as old as Pakistan and my sons are almost as old as Bangladesh. Both of my sons have spend time working here in this country filled with many friendly hospital Bengalis. It is a country of 150 million people with 15 million living in the capital of Dhaka. At least 88% of the people are Muslim. With time constraints in today’s schedule I didn’t have time to locate photos of the National Flag, Flower, Bird, or Animal. Of course the Bengal Tiger has eluded me! I once took a photo of a tiger’s track that the guide thought was maybe less than an hour old! I decided to post this photo which not only was handy in my flash drive, but showed the friendliness of Bengalis in this village near Mymensingh. We have visited this village twice this year.
