Gate Keeper

Social Distancing

Lots of people waiting to take care of their banking needs on a busy Saturday morning at Mt. Hope. Lined up outside the drive-up window, and at the front door.

Bridal Party

The Bridal Party is waiting for the right moment to cross the road for the wedding. Meanwhile a Grandpa comes to chat with them. I had dropped off some taxi customers at the wedding site, and stopped on the road to capture this unique shot.

Schools Open in Ohio

Barefoot Girls on Country Road: It looks like a nice bouquet for the teacher
Oops! I wondered why my camera wouldn’t focus on the school boys. The camera decided to focus on the carved bird from Africa that my brother gifted me! Sometimes, like the camera, we get distracted from the main thing.

When schools are on main highways, children use these ladders to walk from field to field to get safely to their schools.

Baby Photoshoot

The baby just woke up and wasn’t sure about this photographer!

But things soon changed!

Moved him to the floor and away from the window, but he was looking at the other distractions, and not the photographer! 🙂

Under the Lights

Long evening of volleyball!

Happy Independence Day

There will be celebrations this weekend, though toned down because of Covid19 concerns. Who knows, maybe some people will be eating strawberry pie! Enjoy the holiday, in whatever way you choose to celebrate.

As I was waiting for my taxi customers, a nice Amish lady wondered if I wanted some strawberries. We always love strawberries, so I said sure. How sweet of her to share with us. She had been out picking them in the rain, and still had more to pick. My wife then made strawberry jam, which goes well with her homemade bread, fresh out of the oven.

Amish Country Home

A lovely home for the grandparents. Either the son or son-in-law is returning from mowing hay with the team of horses!

Garage Sale

Bargains galore!

Loading up and ready for the next location!

Innovative

With a taxi customer, we stopped to see this unique piece of equipment. We knew he was going to start mowing at 7 am. This talented Amish farmer built this horse-powered hay cutter that cuts a 24 foot swath!

April Wedding in June

This wedding was originally scheduled for April, but changed so they could have more guests.

Note the tables and lights for the reception in the barn, as well as the tent, to help with social distancing. The wedding is actually 1/2 mile up the road!

The scene I had after dropping off my taxi customers at the wedding. More guests: Arriving by buggy, bike and vehicle!
