This week my taxi work took me to the East Coast of the USA. My wife was able to travel along this time!!!

One of the many scenes I had on a 20 day taxi road trip with 5 young Amish men (Aged 22-39). Now home, before a 7 day road trip to Northeastern USA. It feels like a 40 hour layover! Maybe after that I will be more consistent with posts!
Enjoyed this site East of the Cascade mountains in Washington!

I met Ruth on the Mist Trail that leads up to the Half-Dome and Vernal Falls. This photo was on the Footbridge with Vernal Falls behind us. She was friendly and encouraging. I also met a couple from England, as well as a young man from England. I hiked this trail and the Mirror Lake trail in the Yosemite Valley, for a total of 6.5 miles including the walk from the parking lot, and returning halfway to the trail entrance to make sure the van was locked. It hadn’t been locked!

The First Look

Glasses off, and Binoculars on!

Swartzentruber Amish boys heading home after a long day of birding! Their church doesn’t use bicycles!

A lady enjoying the Millersburg “Rails to Trails” trail which is a great place for walking. My wife was way ahead briskly walking her daily morning walk. I am lagging behind, with my camera and binoculars, getting distracted by birds and their sounds! I use the Merlin app, to identify bird sounds, and sometimes even get to see the birds. Looking forward to the Warbler migration which has already started, but will soon pick up speed! With the warm weather the leaves on the trees are starting to come out, which will give the warblers some cover, and make photographing them a challenge!

After eluding me last Saturday, this species of bird was again heard yesterday, and I was able to get a glimpse of it, and get a photo, as well! It is a Field Sparrow. Lifer for Birders means it is the first time in your life that you have seen this bird, and identified it!

Before I see the bird!

My Fav T-Shirt, and Mug, Both Gifts From Friends

My wife and I go walking on a local trail. I see a bird, I try to photograph it, check it out with my binoculars, and before I know it she is far down the trail. After some 30 minutes I look into the distance, and I see her returning! She We are both in our “happy places!”
