Day 12

RELAXING DURING a stop on the mountainous road from Siliguri to Darjeeling.

MO MO MAKING LESSONS at the Hot Stimulating in Darjeeling.  This activity which was mentioned in the “Lonely Planet” was enjoyed by Austin (my son) and I.  We each bought Mo Mo steamers and are planning a family Mo Mo party for this weekend.  Pruit (our grandson) asked if we could show him how to make them.

THE THINKER!  I am thinking it was cold in Darjeeling and soon after returning to Bangladesh, it turned cold here as well.  Of course, we feel it because the only heat we have is the gas burners or oven!  These last 10 days (today is actually Jan 22) I have worn this hat at times indoors.

Day 359

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR FRIENDS!!  Since I am in Darjeeling, India and decided to upload this photo to be published on Christmas Day, I am using one from last Christmas Day.  I am at the Gulshan 1 Pizza Hut with two of my Miller cousins, Wilma and Paul.

Day 351

MUSTACHE BITES THE DUST!  Thanks for all who voted.  Thursday late afternoon I went to the barber and for 60 tk (90 cents) he cut my hair and removed my mustache!  My wife is very happy to have her husband back!

Day 350

WITH MY FRIEND who for years has told me I should grow a beard. This is what has accumulated since October 2.

THIS MORNING! (photo below)

THIS AFTERNOON (photo below)

GUESS HOW long this mustache will last?  I don’t think there will be a prize, but please guess just in case!

Day 318

Day 294

CAMERIST IN ACTION

Camerist is an old term used for the photographer.  Delmar Penner took this photo in Kumarkhali, Bangladesh.  This is a photo of myself some villagers enjoying seeing their photo on my camera.

Day 268

FOOTBALL PLAYING resumes with the end of Ramadan and the Ramadan Eid. Here I am guarding the goal which is typically my position on Friday and Saturday mornings.  It was nice to see the guys again after a five week break.

I thank either Dan or Frieda Mast for this photo taken last Winter.

Day 238

THANKS!  Celebrating my 61st birthday last week and getting words of encouragement from many friends prompted me to send letters of thanks to some of my High School teachers.  Here I would also like to show my appreciation for their impact on my life as well as the many other people who have challenged me, and encouraged me, not given up on me and believed in me.  You are my heroes and heroines.

A Big Thanks!

Day 232

YOUNG COUPLE enjoying themselves while waiting in traffic on a busy Dhaka street near the Dhanmondi Pizza Hut.  I walked to Pizza Hut to celebrate my birthday with friends.  If figured if I walked I would have more opportunities to get some good photos.  I  was pleasantly surprised to get a call from a friend in Kansas wishing me a “Happy Birthday” while on my rickshaw ride home.
