2012 Day 54

YOUNG MEN OF PRETTY’S FAMILY CAME WITH GIFTS OF FRUIT ETC. FOR KAMAL’S FAMILY. These men had this unique garb on and were carrying things in baskets hanging from bamboo sticks made for carrying loads.

Bright colors!

EKUSHEY FEBRUARY AND INTERNATIONAL MOTHER LANGUAGE DAY.  It is a special day of celebration in Bangladesh (which literally means Bangla Country).   Here I am wearing a punjabi worn by many Bengalis for special occasions.

Note the Bangla script on the sign in the background!

2012 Day 51

HAPPY PRESIDENT’S DAY!  A day in the United States which had been designated to remember George Washington, and then the name changed to include the other president’s.

I took this picture at Kamal Pasha’s wedding reception.  This gentleman was a very friendly man with a pleasing personality.

Kamal's father looks more like President Lincoln than George Washington!

2012 Day 50

ANINDA KABIR AVIK (A fellow TTLer) AT KAMAL AND PRETTY’S WEDDING RECEPTION!

As always with a pleasant smile on his face.

2012 Day 43

THIS IS A SCENE BESIDE THE STREET IN PHNOM PENH.  The young man seemed intent on ignoring the photographer, which makes a better photo anyway.

Battery Sales Must be Slow Today!

2012 Day 40

LOOKING FOR SARUS CRANE SOUTH OF THE ANG TRAPAENG THMOR RESERVOIR in Cambodia.  The guide said I should wear a long-sleeved shirt. I went to buy the night before going out and I like this white shirt so I bought it, with some hesitation.  He was kind of shocked because it would make it difficult to sneak up on Eld deer or Sarus Crane in a white shirt!  I had a long-sleeved shirt with me to wear for arrival in Bangladesh but thought it too thick for Cambodia.  I also noticed in the morning it was very similar to the guide’s shirt! I put on the driver’s police jacket to help cover the bright white shirt.  So it goes.

2012 Day 36

IF EVERYTHING GOES ON SCHEDULE, I SHOULD HAVE ARRIVED BACK IN DHAKA LAST NIGHT.  I decided to wait to start loading photos from my last 5 days in Cambodia until tomorrow.

I GOT A PHOTO OF THIS GENTLEMAN WHO WAS BUYING WHOLE BARBECUED CHICKEN  FROM A STREET-SIDE SELLER.
