Nesting Bald Eagle

Canada Goose and Bald Eagle on the Allegheny Reservoir near Onoville, New York. Using the computer to enlarge the photo since my tele wasn’t long enough caused the pixelation. Decided I would still publish it! 🙂

Gray Catbird

Traveling with an e-bike!

And with a taxi van!

This is what happens when my wife and I take a walk in the woods, and I hand her the camera! This was in Corning, NY. We do like to explore trails in different communities. A highlight of this hike was to see three Pileated Woodpeckers closeup! This was at the Spencer Crest Nature Center near Corning, NY!

Bangladesh National Bird

Oriental Magpie Robin! This bird stood quite still for this portrait! Other birds were more elusive. I joined a group for the contest to see how many birds could be seen in 1 hour. I added the Orange-headed Thrush and Black-naped Oriole to my life list bringing it up to 324 species! I also recorded 13 other species, of which my favorite is the Rose-ringed Parakeet photographed below.

What would you title the chapters of your autobiography? On the Farm; High School & Photography; College and Courting; Centerville Days; Times in Kalona; Principal & Pilot in NW Ontario; Schools in Ohio; Bangladesh Years; Taxiing Amish; Mattress Sales Consultant; Birding & Photography; Retirement Years!

This photo captures several of the chapter titles: Birding, Taxi work, and Photography!

Brilliant Orange

It is always a treat when this colorful orange and black, Baltimore Oriole shows up. We actually had some show up at our feeder this Spring! Likely they were just passing through, since we haven’t seen them recently. The catbirds do love the grape jelly we have put out for the Orioles!

Eyeball to Eyeball

Magnolia Warbler gets up real close! Of course I did crop the photo, so it wasn’t quite this close!

The First Look

Glasses off, and Binoculars on!

Birder at Magee Marsh

Lifer

After eluding me last Saturday, this species of bird was again heard yesterday, and I was able to get a glimpse of it, and get a photo, as well! It is a Field Sparrow. Lifer for Birders means it is the first time in your life that you have seen this bird, and identified it!
