Day 350

WITH MY FRIEND who for years has told me I should grow a beard. This is what has accumulated since October 2.

THIS AFTERNOON (photo below)

GUESS HOW long this mustache will last?  I don’t think there will be a prize, but please guess just in case!

Day 293

A PIZZA HUT CELEBRATION was scheduled for my birthday in August, resulted in them doing their H.B. chant for me and giving me this bouquet of flowers.  I don’t think this is normal, but I think they remembered that I was a good friend of one of their workers who had just quit.  I had played football with him, and usually he gave me and Alice a free cup of coffee or ice cream when we came with friends.

Take time today to have some coffee with a friend.  Time is fleeting and precious.  Don’t put it off, tomorrow may be too late.

Coffee, birthday and flowers!

Day 268

FOOTBALL PLAYING resumes with the end of Ramadan and the Ramadan Eid. Here I am guarding the goal which is typically my position on Friday and Saturday mornings.  It was nice to see the guys again after a five week break.

I thank either Dan or Frieda Mast for this photo taken last Winter.

Day 216

REFRESHING DRINKS for my grandsons.  I just returned from a local store with a bag of Diet Pepsi and water.  Ricky, the awesome Remian Raider’s goalie wonders if he could have a drink.  I was more than glad to share with him.  My grandsons and I spent almost five at this football tournament in Banani.  They had a great time.

Day 165

NICE VASE

The footballers gave us this vase as a 40th anniv. gift.  I then had it filled with 20 roses.  Note two of our grandsons playing football in the right side background.

FOURTIETH ANNIVERSARY COUPLE

We celebrated with our family on the rooftop of a restaurant under a section of tin roof in a torrential downpour!  Precious memories.  Some amazing lightning and thunder.

After 40 great years of married life.

FOURTIETH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIION

I wanted to celebrate our 40th anniv. with the footballers I play with on weekends so I had a special meal ordered for them for after our game.  They also came with this cake.

Tilted so you could read the words without standing on your head!

day 158

POON HILL OR BUST

Here I am taking a break in my 300 m climb from our hotel (Hotel Snowland) to Poon Hill which is at 3,210 m (10, 531.496 063 feet).  I could tell that I was at a high altitude, because of the frequent rest stops I needed.
