Day 262

HALIM’S MOTHER in her kitchen.  She cooks up a very tasty curry.  Halim is a Muslim friend, whom I play football with two mornings per week.

A Great Bengali Cook!

I reblogged this post:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my Mom!! My mother (Fannie Jane Beachy Miller) on left from Sarasota, Fl, Mary Beachy Miller (Mrs. David L. Miller) from Kansas in the center, and on the right, Esther Beachy Zook (Mrs. Henry Zook) from Kalona, Iowa where the three sisters grew up.  They are the daughters of Ananias Beachy and Ella Mae Shetler.  My mother is celebrating her 86th birthday today.  This photo was taken in the summer of 2006 in front of Henry’s house.  David’s had just arrived from Kansas, and Mom and I from Ohio.  I saw them greeting each other, noticed the similar dresses and decided this is a great photo-op and so here it is. The Beachy Sisters!

Day 194

GRANDMA with her grandsons, Riley, Pruitt and Jensen.  They were all in a festive mood since it was her birthday.

Let the good times roll!

Day 165

NICE VASE

The footballers gave us this vase as a 40th anniv. gift.  I then had it filled with 20 roses.  Note two of our grandsons playing football in the right side background.

Day 106

LADY

This lady was peering out the window at the foreigners, one of which was wielding a camera!

Caught by the lens.

Day 105

FRIENDS

Alice finds a friend on a path in Joypara! Maybe she is hunting for the right Bangla word?

Two worlds meet!

Day 100

AFTER DINNER

(L to R) Rehanna, Alice, Dolly (Rehanna’s dau.) and Dustin.

Rehanna and Dolly escorted us to the street to get transportation to travel to our section of the city.  They were so glad that we had come to their home to enjoy a meal, meet the family, and visit.   In this culture relationships are so much more valuable than things.  We are more than glad to help donate clothes, etc. to help families of this housing area to try and get their lives back together after the tragic fire that destroyed many of their homes.  It is blessing that no one lost their life in the fire.  Ten were injured, including one fireman.

Farewells after a nice visit and meal!

Day 99

GRACIOUS HOSTESS

This nice lady, Rehanna, invited us to her home on February 6 to enjoy a great meal of curried chicken and rice, etc.  This week the contents of her home were destroyed by fire.  Her one-room house had a cement floor and brick walls so it will take less to rebuild than many of the homes.

Rehanna, our gracious hostess.
