Day 246

HAPPY 87TH BIRTHDAY TO MY MOTHER, Fannie Jane Miller

My Mother with Alice, my wife when Mom arrived from Florida to spend some time with us.

My Mother with Pauline (Alice’s sister).  Mom made this wall-hanging from some ties that Mark Zehr (Pauline’s deceased husband) used to wear.  Pauline was pleased with this gift.  My Mother has been quilting quilts, wall-hangings, etc. for a long time.

Here is Mom wearing the card she found in the gift shop to buy.  I then paid for it, and the clerk said she needs to pass it on to friends to wear when it is their birthday.

OUR GOOD FRIEND CAROL who takes care of our mail, etc. while we are in Bangladesh.

OUR GOOD FRIEND IDA

Day 240

CONGRATULATIONS TO KATRINA MILLER AND FELICIA BYLER, two of my former students.  It was a pleasure to chat with them today.  It brought back good memories of their first years of school.  They will both soon be married!

Day 191

OUR FRIEND CAROL, who invited friends over and we had a hot dog roast, and finished up with smores (graham crackers, hershey choc bar pieces, and roasted marshmallows).  It was a nice evening around the fire.

Day 185

CHRIS (Nephew) and Jackie (Nephew Matthew’s wife)  posing for this shot at our family reunion.  It was a good day which ended up with a dramatic display of fireworks at Millersburg, Ohio, U.S.A.  Yesterday was the 4th of July (Independence Day). I trust we appreciate our independence.

Day 181

IDA, OUR FRIEND ENJOYING OUR photo book.  She had invited us over for supper along with her mother, and Carol, another friend.  It was a fun evening of getting caught up on recent events in our lives, reminiscing about the good times we had together in years past, and of course a good cup of coffee.

Day 177

REUNION WITH OUR GOOD FRIEND Carol Hochstetler

Not a good day for the U.S. soccer team as they lost in overtime to Ghana.  Maybe in 2014?

Day 175

MOM AND I REUNITED AFTER three years. She arrived on the bus at Noon today!

Day 169

PRUITT, MY MEJHO (middle in Bangla) grandson playing games on my cellphone.   He is wearing the Fatuwa which was a farewell gift for him from the MCC Sacred Mark project staff.

Day 161

MYSELF WITH AUSTIN’S FAMILY just before good-byes are said.  They are leaving at 3 in the morning for the airport heading home to Canton, Ohio, U.S.A.  It was nice to have them here the last 29 months.  It will be different when we return in the fall and they won’t be here.  Alice was the photographer so she couldn’t be in the photo.  Alice had fixed a great breakfast casserole for our supper along with her special grape-nut pudding.

Day 158

MYSELF CAUGHT in the eye of the lens by Pruitt, my 9 year old grandson.
