Day 353

NO CLEAR WINNER in the “How long will the mustache last?”

I delivered friends to their luncheon appointment at 12 noon on Wednesday, and decided to go home and get rid of my beard instead of staying for lunch.  I spent 15 minutes getting some photos taken of my hairy condition.  That left 30 minutes to get rid of the beard before I had to leave to go with my friends to Mirpur!  I cut fast and furious with the scissors and then whacked away with my safety razor!  I left a few blood trails but I finished.  When I came out with only my mustache there was quite a reaction from my wife and house helper.  On Thursday, while my guests were in another home for dinner (supper) I took a trip to Towne Hall Bazaar, and had my local barber get rid of the mustache.  The mustache had lasted 29 hours.    See the comments below!  And thanks to my Kansas friends for the encouragement to not quit loading photos after day 365!

“Do we even know you?!  INCREDIBLE!!!”

“Marland, you are hilarious! The beard definitely had to go. The mustache-only look reminds me of a WW-I RAF airman…”

“BTW, please, pretty please, with sugar on top, don’t stop with the pictures at day 365! They are continually day brighteners for me, and help us to keep you in mind.”

“Gotta love the new look. I’m guessing your moustache will last until your wife gets a hold of it? less than 24 hours maybe?” 😉  M

“I’m scared! U sure change appearance with that thing on your face! Wow! – I’m guessing till Sunday morning… lol”. 🙂

“HI, What a beard!!!!!! I bet Alice loved your beard……. If I had to guess probably not J……. My guess is the mustache came off  b4 the day ended. I think you look better and younger without it!  You remind me off someone who plays a part in a western movie. Cracks me up, you were my laugh for the day. So much for my vote.”

“”Hope this finds you and Alice doing well. Tell her I said “HI”.””

PARENTS STANDING in a line for school registration for their children.  This line was at least 100 yards long stretching past our apartment building!

Day 351

MUSTACHE BITES THE DUST!  Thanks for all who voted.  Thursday late afternoon I went to the barber and for 60 tk (90 cents) he cut my hair and removed my mustache!  My wife is very happy to have her husband back!

Day 350

WITH MY FRIEND who for years has told me I should grow a beard. This is what has accumulated since October 2.
