Day 19

HERE I AM STANDING in the street with the mo mo steamer I purchased.  With the obvious cold, I was wearing the Nepali style hat that I had purchased.  It was knitted and very warm.  Grab the braids and tie them under your chin and you’re even warmer.  So with the bananas under my arm, and my camera on the ready I was ready to head for the hotel!

ALICE AND DUSTIN browsing the market stalls (looking for warm clothes?)

RELAXING DURING a stop on the mountainous road from Siliguri to Darjeeling.

DUSTIN PONDERING the next chess move.  Him and I played many games of chess while vacationing in Darjeeling.

DUSTIN, our youngest son caught in a great pose!

MO MO MAKING LESSONS at the Hot Stimulating in Darjeeling.  This activity which was mentioned in the “Lonely Planet” was enjoyed by Austin (my son) and I.  We each bought Mo Mo steamers and are planning a family Mo Mo party for this weekend.  Pruit (our grandson) asked if we could show him how to make them.

Day 2

RILEY, OUR YOUNGEST GRANDSON with the cake celebrating his 6th birthday.  Actually this happened tomorrow (Day 3) but since I am retroactively putting photos on my blog it works.  It is good to be back online with my computer after a Windows crash.  We installed Win7 and everything seems to be running smoothly.

Day 3

HAPPY  6TH BIRTHDAY, RILEY! Riley is our youngest grandchild.  Today we should have arrived back in Dhaka after a family vacation in Darjeeling, India, including Christmas and New Year’s Day.  At Nando’s restaurant in Dhanmondhi Riley had to try out Grandpa’s glasses.

A NEW YEAR HAS ARRIVED and we hope it is filled hope, joy, and peace for all our friends.

Day 305

RILEY our youngest grandchild is having fun trying out my new remote shutter release for my camera.

Trigger Happy!

Day 273

ALICE AND DUSTIN walking the back streets of Dhaka on the way to Jensen’s 10th birthday party.  Jensen is our oldest grandchild.

Day 269

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my 10-yr old grandson, Jensen.  Until he was nine months old, I knew I was a grandpa, but never got to hold him, since he was born in Bangladesh.  In 2000 we met Austin’s and Dustin in Bangkok, spent a week in Chiang and then made our first visit to Bangladesh where Austin’s and Dustin were living.

Jensen, with cake he decorated.
