4 am cleaning off the car; bkfst with friends, and then picking up some of my boss’s family, and birding. Obviously we could set up the scope on the road, since it was flooded and nobody was going on past this point. Saw many birds, but only one new bird! It always felt good to get back in to the car, to travel to the next site.
No hat rack available! A gentleman had passed on, and people were coming to pay their respects. I had taken some people, since I do taxi work for the Amish, and I was watching the people come and go. All of a sudden there was a gust of wind, and most of the hats blew my way, one of them even blowing onto the road! I rescued the hat, and put them all in a safer place, out of the wind! It is an important part of the culture. As I was outside my vehicle, after rescuing my cousin’s son, came over to visit, as well as another good friend, who had brought her parents. Some people walked, others rode bikes, and some came in their surreys, and some called a taxi, like my passengers. Have a great week!
I am sitting on our porch doing this post. I just finished 4 oz of this fabulous Salted Caramel Drinking Chocolate by Katherine Anne confections! Awesome! Although my birthday was 10 days ago, it was nice to again celebrate. You all have a great week.
My taxi customer wanted to stop at this farmstead to say hi. She had lived here for the five years, that she taught school in Illinois. She was greeted with a big smile and hug! Lots of nostalgia, I am sure! The treasure of friendships!
Nice to see my friends showing their skills in my home town. I am heading to PA for an Alumni banquet, so couldn’t join the carvers. Good weather this year. Last year it was quite chilly!
