Day 123

DITCH DIGGING FOREMAN!  This fellow was motioning to me that he wanted some money to buy some food with.  Even though he has a job he thought maybe I would help him out!

BENGALI WOMEN WORKING ON CREW to excavate a ditch.  With Mother’s Day coming soon, I’m sure many people would be glad their Mother didn’t have to have this kind of job.  It is commendable that they are working and not begging! I suspect there were days my Mother worked this hard!

Day 111

TODAY IS “GOOD FRIDAY” WITHOUT WHICH there  wouldn’t have been an “EASTER SUNDAY!”

HERE IS A YOUNG BENGALI MAKING COTTON CANDY in front of Aarong’s hoping to attract business from the Pre-New Year’s Day shoppers.

RICKSHAW WALLAH DURING THE HEAT OF THE DAY takes a rest!

Day 109

RICKSHAW WALLAH (Driver) HAVING SOME FUN when business is slow!

Day 102

SHUBHO NABO BARSO to all my Benglai friends.  Tomorrow is Poila Baisakh, New Year’s Day in Bangladesh.  It is traditional to wear red, which I am sure will be no different tomorrow.

Ladies already clad in red on New Year’s Eve.

RICKSHAW WALLAH OILING HIS WHEEL on Asad Ave, Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Day 100

BENGALI GENTLEMAN GETTING CAUGHT UP on the daily news.  This method saves 10 tk (15 cents) per day.  He would save $3558.75 in 65 years plus interest! This was one of the sights I saw during my 5k walk yesterday.  It’s not any cooler today, and it feels like the dog days of summer, as we say it in Iowa.  It also feels like this year is racing on, noticing this is the 100th day of this year.

Day 98

CONSTRUCTION WORKERS in Lalmatia, Dhaka, Bangladesh leaving  a hot day in the sun.  The baskets are used to carry bricks, sand, cement, etc.

Day 77

GUARD MYMENSINGH, BANGLADESH  GUARDING BUILDING SITE materials with advertisement behind him.
