Shades of Autumn

This brought back memories of the many Track & Field days, I have been involved in, either as a student, or as a principal.

My Uncle’s Great-Grandchildren watching their Great-Grandfather’s casket being lowered this weekend.

My Uncle passed and these items depicted the things that were familiar to him, since he had a watch and clock shop for 55 years.

I was privileged to spend time with my Uncle Joe’s family this weekend, as we celebrated Joe’s life. He lived to the ripe old age of 95. The photo is of a sunset over a farm near Kalona, Iowa.

I am not sure I have ever seen any Amish walking on this Rails to Trails trail in Millersburg. The trail is so far from their homes they wouldn’t walk that far. I do see them quite often on the trail with their horse carriages or their bicycles. Over the years they have contributed a lot of money for the trail, because it gives them a safer route than coming to town the whole way on a two-lane highway. I suspect they had been at the nearby hospital, and decided to go for a walk.

Thinking of my mother today, since it is the anniversary of the day, a year ago, that we laid her to rest! She taught us the love of puzzling, which is a pleasant memory I had putting puzzles together with my sister, Lillian in August of this year, while vacationing in California!

Tools and Carvers waiting for the carver!

I spent a fair amount of time at this table last weekend! Unless I change my mind, the cowboy is ready for some touchup, and then ready for my paint brushes! I’m anxious to see how he turns out!

Deer in front of me on the Rails to Trails trail, trying to figure out what I am! In case you noticed this photo was taken before the one on yesterday’s post!
