Day 70

ARTIST AT WORK outside the Boi Mela (Book Fair) at the Bangla Academy in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Day 69

SUNSET FROM OUR ROOFTOP:  I wanted to catch this sunset with the sun a little higher in the sky but was a few minutes later than I would have liked.  Here is what awaited me when I arrived on the rooftop.  The mosque is a 4-5 minute walk from our apartment.  I would have loved to have those birds fly between me and the sun!

MAGAZINE STAND Operator where I buy the South Asian version of the Reader’s Digest every month.  It is a special treat for Alice, which pleases her every time I buy it.

Day 67

LADY IN GREEN with her proud husband.  I met this friendly couple at my friend’s wedding.

HALIM AND RUMKI – Halim is a friend of mine.  We were attending the wedding of another friend at the Parliament Member’s Club.  We had a nice typical meal of mutton biriyani, chicken, jorda, and borhani!

Day 65

TANVIR’S BRIDE!  Tanvir was on a football team I play with on Friday and Saturday mornings.

Day 63

BENGALI LADY and her daughter, who were also waiting for the Boi Mela to open.

FISHERMEN and their boat which I saw from the ferry, during my trip to Khulna.

Day 60

VAN-GARI Driver working his way through the crowd waiting for the Boi Mela to open.

PAINTERS AT WORK on the wall and on my face and hand!   I attended the annual Boi Mela (Book Fair) organized by the Bangla Academy on the last day of the month long Mela.  They had many painters who were ready to paint the national flag, map or minar.  My hand was done free when I ran into the painter I had met earlier but didn’t ask to have any painting done.  He insisted on doing my hand at no charge!

Day 58
