Day 184

MY NIECE BAILY AT COFFEE WORLD where we had frappes tomato soup and sandwiches. It’s great having her around.

Day 130

HERE IS SOME OF THE TASTY CURRIED CHICKEN THAT was served at Shudipto’s wedding reception last Sunday evening at the Party Place in Dhaka near the Police Line.  I arrived early, since I hadn’t judge exactly the time to get to that area of the city.  I arrived with a camera, so the guys at the entrance asked me something and I said sure.  They had been talking to fast in Bangla and I didn’t totally catch it.  They then took me up to the Party Place and down the back to the basement where they were cooking all the food for the reception!

GROOM IS WORKING ON CAMERA SETTINGS before taking photos of his bride.  That’s what happens when you marry a photographer!  Of course these Bengali weddings are not quite like the American ones.  This is basically a wedding reception, where everyone comes and many get their photo taken with the bride, and get a great meal, visit and leave.  Shudipto is a real gentleman and should make a great husband.

Shudipto and His Bride!

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO MY MOTHER and all the other great Mother’s who check out this site!

Tonight I attended a wedding of Shudipto, a TTL club photographer.  He had invited all the TTLr’s from Dhaka to his wedding reception.

Of course then you would see action like this wouldn’t you, with both the bride and groom behind the lens?  It was a fun evening with great Bengali food!  All the typical wedding food including curried chicken, fish and beef.  They also served my favorite drink, borhani!

LADY IN BANGLADESH WAITING to load up another basket with dirt being excavated for a ditch.  You can see a photo of her helping another lady lift the load in Day 122.

Day 123

DITCH DIGGING FOREMAN!  This fellow was motioning to me that he wanted some money to buy some food with.  Even though he has a job he thought maybe I would help him out!

BENGALI WOMEN WORKING ON CREW to excavate a ditch.  With Mother’s Day coming soon, I’m sure many people would be glad their Mother didn’t have to have this kind of job.  It is commendable that they are working and not begging! I suspect there were days my Mother worked this hard!

Day 121

LADY IN BANGLADESH ON A CREW THAT IS EXCAVATING FOR  some drainage pipes.  She hauls dirt in a basket on her head to another location.
