OUR DINING ROOM with part of the entry room showing on the left. The left is where we put our outside sandals and switch to our apt. sandals or go bare-footed. There is also where guests put their sandals. Without this procedure there would be a lot of sand or dirt to walk through. Alice was doing the bargaining for the dining room table at Towne Hall Bazaar. You should have seen her bargaining in Bangla. Of course she had drawn a crowd, who all wanted to see what she was going to pay for the table. She had fun, they had fun, and when the owner agreed to the price, and Alice agreed and then I agreed and forked out the taka!

PARTICIPATION TROPHY being received after the final match at the Towne Hall Field Tournament. It was a big event with a band and lots of firecrackers. I was introduced at the opening ceremonies and was with the long line of dignitaries of the Towne Hall Market Committee, etc. to shake the hands of the players of the two teams in the final match. It was a fun evening.

MOHAMMADPUR FRIEND’S CLUB GOALIE explaining something at half-time.

ELECTRICIAN
Sayeed came to install an IPS that was donated by a friend. An IPS builds up charge while the electricity is available and then when electricity shuts down it runs fans and lights etc. With this option the power outages in the middle of a 100 degree day are more bearable since the fans are still running. We went 19 months without one. Finally during this season when we lost our electricity every hour for an hour we hooked up the IPS and battery which generous friends shared with this. Ironically it has been hooked up for a week. Immediately when it was hooked up we had some rains it cooled down for three days, and until today we only had one outage which lasted for an hour.

LOCKSMITH
I wanted two new keys to lock our apartment door. No Wal-Mart so I sent my helper to the market and he had this fellow make one with a file, punch, hack saw, hammer, etc. After several tries he came to the house so he could try them instead of my helper bringing them home, and taking them back when they didn’t work. Here he is holding the key blank with his big toe and finger of one hand while running the file with the other hand!!
CARPENTER
