Day 146

CINDY, WITH CHAYLA, HER MOM BEHIND HER, AND FATHER BESIDE HER, walking to a village near Munshiganj.  Several hours of rainfall during our journey, turned the trail into mud.

Day 145

LITTLE BENGALI GIRL VENTURES out the window.  Candace, Shayla were outside playing with other children, but this girl was a little shy.

Day 144

CARPENTER DRILLS HOLES the old-fashioned way.  When there is a power outage, he can still keep working. He is building shutters for the village home near Munshiganj.

Day 143

AN OLD BENGALI MAN gazes out the window of his village home near Munshiganj.

Day 142

THE GROOM ARRIVED AND ENTERED THE WEDDING RECEPTION HALL, and look at what was left behind!

Day 141

THE SHOES, ARIFUL WORE AT THE WEDDING RECEPTION, which is very typical for Bengali wedding attire.

Day 139

WAITING FOR THE GROOM TO ENTER the reception hall, and toss glitter on him.  They even had some left and tossed it on me after I went inside.  The one young boy apologized, probably for his little sister, but I told him it was no problem.

Day 138

FOUNTAIN OUTSIDE THE OFFICER’S CLUB IN DHAKA, where Ariful and Tajia’s wedding reception was held.

Day 137

TEA STALL OWNER PREPARING ME A CUP OF TEA.  His stand is 50 yards from Jeremy’s apartment, and half way between us and Charles’ place!  Sweetened condensed milk, sugar, and some tea are created to make this great drink.  Maybe 3 oz. for 6 cents!  It’s a rare day that I don’t have a cup of tea.  He is wearing a lungi, which is typically what I wear most days at home in the apartment.  They are quite comfortable during these 90+ degrees days!

Day 136

MANY CAMERAS WERE CATCHING the action at Ariful and Tajia’s wedding.

Capturing a photo of the bride and groom!

RINGS ON HER FINGERS AND BELLS ON HER TOES?

YOUNG BENGALI GIRLS AT MY FRIEND ARIF’S WEDDING RECEPTION.

Not-Posed and Posed!

Caught in the Lens again!

Day 130

HERE IS SOME OF THE TASTY CURRIED CHICKEN THAT was served at Shudipto’s wedding reception last Sunday evening at the Party Place in Dhaka near the Police Line.  I arrived early, since I hadn’t judge exactly the time to get to that area of the city.  I arrived with a camera, so the guys at the entrance asked me something and I said sure.  They had been talking to fast in Bangla and I didn’t totally catch it.  They then took me up to the Party Place and down the back to the basement where they were cooking all the food for the reception!
