Day 286

MY DEAR SWEETHEART, “Walking in the Rain,”being watched by the ducks!  We enjoyed our trip to Mymensingh visiting different MCC projects.

Day 285

AN INTERESTING BLUE CEILING in a great Bengali restaurant in Mymensingh. Looks like it could be the surface of the moon under certain lighting conditions. 🙂

Day 284

FARMER (Malik) IN MYMENSINGH carrying some grass he harvested.  Even though it was raining he didn’t mind posing for the photo, of course he had his own shelter!  I wanted to get the pose in the field but I was too slow getting the camera out of the bag and safely under a fellow traveler’s umbrella.

Day 283

HOUSE CROW (Kak)  COMING in for a landing to join the others.  This scene is on the rooftop of our 9 story building.  Trivia:  Later today it will be 10/10/10 10:10!

A BUILDING SEVERAL DOORS DOWN is being torn down, likely for a new many-storied apartment building.  I think it was a building in which friends of ours were when he asked her to marry him, probably 40 years ago.  I suspect it will obstruct some of our view from our living room.  There are worse things that can happen.

Day 281

THREE YEARS  ago we arrived in Dhaka and unpacked our bags.  Our lives have blended with many friends, bideshi(foreigners) and Bengalis.  We have impacted others, and others have impacted us.  Life goes on whether it is a rainy or sunny day.  Today is a very rainy day, which has naturally caused a big drop in temperatures.  It is 79.9 degrees Fahrenheit outside, trying hard to stay below 80 degrees!  Winter is surely on its way.

CARPETS THAT WERE MADE AT AN MCC project in Myemsingh, Bangladesh.  Alice and I had a very nice tour with Austin, and others, visiting many of the projects in Mymensingh, as well as the Taizi Brother’s chapel.

Day 222

MYSELF WITH CANDACE AND CHAYLA at the computer.  No, they are not in Pa., and I’m not in Bangladesh.  This was a photo taken before we left for the U.S.A.

Day 221

BENGALI LADY

Day 171

I HAD A NICE BREAKFAST with my friend, Charles at this hotel (restaurant). Alice and I headed for the Dhaka airport at 10 pm, for our 1:20 flight with Malaysia Airlines.

Day 170

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY SPECIAL WIFE whose birthday is today!  I met her on September 18 in the afternoon and have had so many special times together since then!  Sorry, sweetheart, it’s 9 pm and the power is off so I couldn’t find a good photo of you on this laptop, so I used one of an Argentina flag waving high over a street in Lalmatia, Dhaka, Bangladesh.  This city is wild with 2010 World Cup fever!  Even more so than the World Series or the NBA finals in the U.S.A.  Well today was filled with more good-byes.  As I left the football field I had tears.  One fellow told me it is ok,  you will return!

Day 169

PRUITT, MY MEJHO (middle in Bangla) grandson playing games on my cellphone.   He is wearing the Fatuwa which was a farewell gift for him from the MCC Sacred Mark project staff.
