Standing out in the crowd!

Standing out in the crowd!  Can you find her husband (myself) on the poster?

I have known this young man for many years.  The big bag is full of muri, similar but smaller than puffed rice.  It is used to make a very tasty, spicy snack called jhal muri!

Alice attended BIF5 the exhibition of the TTL photo club of which I am a member.  I had a photo in the exhibition, which was a pleasure.  Here is Alice with some of the ladies from the club.

I’ll probably have to pay for this one, but I had to post it.  I’m not sure if the husband approves!  Thanks for coming to see the exhibition!

Crazy

This young girl spends her morning carrying a big rice bag around to fill with paper and plastic for recycling.   Though part of the many poor in Dhaka, she still knows how to smile.

It was a great moment for me when I heard that one of my photos was accepted for TTL’s BIF5(Bangladesh in Frames5) photo exhibition at Drik Gallery in Dhanmondi, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Here is a previous post of the photo that was accepted:       https://marlandphotos.com/2012/06/17/boli-khela-wrestling/

Here are some photos of the opening day of this event.

This young girl is a rag-picker.  She goes out every morning to collect recyclable items such as paper and plastic to sell.  The rag-pickers typically are carrying a big burlap bag which hopefully gets filled!

I shot this photo at ISO 5,000 which accounts for the grain.  It was at 21 mm, 1/50th sec, and f/3.5 using a 18-55 Canon kit lens.
