Do you have a memory that’s linked to a smell? I remember the smell of the perfume my wife wore when we were dating. During the years that we were writing letters, I remember going to the college campus post office every day to check if there was a letter from her. The envelope always had the same sweet aroma.
Here we are after 53 years of marriage!
What fear have you conquered? Fear of water! I spent one Winter during my lunch hour at a swimming pool teaching myself how to swim.
What is your preferred mode of travel? Rickshaw, thought not available in most countries!
If you had a billion US dollars, how would you spend it? Winter home, new van, computer, and camera, spotting scope, and then invest the rest.
What chore do you find the most challenging to do? Shoveling snow!
How do you define success? Sucess would be when you have set a goal and reached it.
Has a book changed your life? The book that has most changed my life would be the Bible!
What is the most memorable gift you have received? My friend bought me a nice Canon SLR camera. He heard that my SLR was stolen, and so the gift was timely as well as memorable!
How far back in your family tree can you go? I think I can go back 6 or 8 generations! Back to Jacob Raber’s father. I did see the apartment building where that family lived in Germany before they came to America, in thee 1700’s.

Why do you write? I write either to record events or to inform people. Or to complete the story of my photos.
What brings you joy in life? When I can help meet someone’s needs.
