Day 311

TTL (Through the Lens) Safari at Hakaluki Haor, Moulovibazar was a great two days.  With the rainy season over we cancelled the visit to Madhabkunda Falls, but we visited two beautiful tea gardens.  It was also too early in the season to see many birds at the Hakaluki Haor.  Even though these things were a little disappointing, it was a splendid two days spent with some great photographers and now who are also friends.  This was my first trip out of town with this group, and they were very friendly and helpful.  They even helped me get back into the boat after our swim in the river!  I did lay my glasses down and forgot to pick them up, so I’m waiting to edit and sort the 1274 photos I took until I get new glasses.  I thank Jeremy, who loaned me his 350D camera, since mine is being repaired.  This is one photo I thought would be a good one to start off my series of this trip.  Thanks to all my TTL friends who did so much to make me feel welcome on this trip!

Day 275

RILEY, OUR 6-YR OLD grandson having a great time at McDonald’s Playplace in Millersburg, Ohio.  I took the grandsons there the last day we spent time with them, before heading for Bangladesh.

Day 271

RILEY, OUR YOUNGEST GRANDSON, with his friend Jack!  He loves to play with this dog.  He couldn’t get done saying good-bye to him.  Also, when arriving on the farm, the first thing he did was to say hi to Jack!  We sure do miss you, Riley.

Day 269

HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY for sure to Jensen.  Here is a photo of our three grandsons, with Alice, my wife just before they said their good-byes before we returned to Bangladesh.  (L to R) Pruitt-Age 9, Riley-Age 6, Alice-Age 62,  and Jensen-Age 11. Don’t tell Alice I put her age on this blog!

Day 267

HAPPY 11TH BIRTHDAY TO our grandson, Jensen Isaiah Miller!! Here he is trying to light the candles on his birthday cake.  He decorated the cake.  Of course this birthday celebration was early, since we were leaving for Bangladesh before his birthday.  Sorry, Jensen, Grandma’s calendar says your birthday is not till the 26th!

Day 200

AMISH FATHER AND SONS HARVESTING SPELT IN Holmes County, near Mt. Hope, Ohio.

Day 186

MY NEPHEW, CHRIS AND MY GRANDSON, PRUITT decided maybe the t-shirt would big enough for both of them to fit inside.  It was a fun weekend with my Mother, brothers, nephews, and nieces, and their spouses.

Day 169

PRUITT, MY MEJHO (middle in Bangla) grandson playing games on my cellphone.   He is wearing the Fatuwa which was a farewell gift for him from the MCC Sacred Mark project staff.

Day 162

A BIG DAY TODAY FOR US and for the FOOTBALL (SOCCER) LOVING FANS.  This morning my son, Austin, and his family left for America after 2 1/2 years working with MCC.  Also tonight is the opening of the WORLD CUP 2010 tournament.  The flags are waving high here in Bangladesh as Bengalis are showing their loyal support for either Brazil or Argentina.  There are a few that would support other countries but they are few.

Yesterday, I took my grandsons to the barber and here they are on the rickshaw that brought us to our apartment.

Pruitt drinking his MoJo, Jensen gazing at the playing field, and Riley grabbing his chin!  Oh, also the rickshaw walla with the perfect pose! 🙂  I would have brightened up the photo more, but I would have lost the walla’s tupi!
