THIS YOUNG BOY, WHO LIKELY LIVES IN THE BIHARI CAMP NEAR TOWN HALL IS A LIKEABLE BOY!
He must spend a lot of time at the playing field where our football tournament is being held. He was playing with a spinning top toy one evening, so I sent him to buy me one. I gave him 20 tk, since he said it would cost 8 tk. He came back later with the top. It looked like a used one with a new string used to make it spin. I told him to keep the change. Later he showed up with a small pack of fried potato chips and shared them with me. They would have cost him 5 tk.
We did win our semi-finals game 2-0, but I thought I would wait till later to post some of the football photos. The first point was on a penalty kick soon after the second half started. Later there was a nice combination of passing which outwitted the goalkeeper!
JOSHUA AND NIC TAKING A CLOSE LOOK AT THE COINS AT DHAMRAI METAL CRAFTS. The children were going to buy some of the old coins. Sukanta’s wife decided to treat the children, so she gave them the coins as a gift. Some were stamped with Queen Victoria, and some King George V!
YESTERDAY WE VISITED THE NATIONAL MONUMENT FOR MARTYRS IN NOBINOGOR. Here you see two fathers trying to get some great shots of their children enjoying the beautiful monument, brickwork, and green grass. You can see a nice photo of the monument at: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sazzadrafique/232536846/.
DIPTI AND JAMES, WITH THEIR 8-MONTH OLD DAUGHTER SOPHIA VISITED IN OUR HOME LAST EVENING. James gave me a copy of “Bangladesh NATURE QUEST,” WHICH IN THIS March-May 2012 issue feature an article of his entitled, “The Padma, A place for all seasons! Good work, James! For the evening meal, my dear wife Alice treated us with french fries, french pizza, salad, hot veggies, a fresh veggie plate, and a delicious trifle dessert.
I would love to get feedback on how you like the new theme I am using with header: Twenty-Ten.
THIS IS THE VIEW FROM THE 7TH HEAVEN RESTAURANT ABOVE AARONG’S IN LALMATIA, DHAKA, BANGLADESH. Carol Hochstetler liked this photo because of the tractor and the cool car beside it. I guess this photo is dedicated to my friend, Joe Hochstetler!
