Day 166

NEPALI LADY

This lady was walking down the path beside where we were taking a break.  I had just given some children some pencils.  Her and her friend kind of stopped and hung around.  Our guide then told me that they also want a pencil.  They stayed around awhile and she enjoyed the little butt of a cigarette she had left.  It was down to 1/3 inch but when she dropped it, she picked it up and was going to enjoy it to the end!

Enjoying her smoke!

Day 165

NICE VASE

The footballers gave us this vase as a 40th anniv. gift.  I then had it filled with 20 roses.  Note two of our grandsons playing football in the right side background.

FOURTIETH ANNIVERSARY COUPLE

We celebrated with our family on the rooftop of a restaurant under a section of tin roof in a torrential downpour!  Precious memories.  Some amazing lightning and thunder.

After 40 great years of married life.

POON HILL OR BUST

Here I am taking a break in my 300 m climb from our hotel (Hotel Snowland) to Poon Hill which is at 3,210 m (10, 531.496 063 feet).  I could tell that I was at a high altitude, because of the frequent rest stops I needed.

Day 157

VEGGIE RAP

My grandson, Riley helped sing a song called “Veggie Rap”, in which he was dressed in green as the (green) bean!

Ok, let's start.

This photo was taken in the foothills of the Himalayas on a trek up to Poon Hill.

Looking at what?

Day 1

DRINKING TEA

I decided to interrupt the Nepal photos with this photo my friend took of me sipping Bengali tea during a photo shoot in Old Dhaka.  A bus driver who ran the route from Holmes Co., Ohio to Sarasota, Fl. was discussing me with my Mom in Florida.  He said it is the fellow who looks out over the top of his glasses.  I guess he was right!  I’d like to thank my friend Matthias, who dropped this photo onto my desktop while I was in Nepal.

Day 152

BANANA LASSI

Here I am enjoying a banana lassi.

Refreshing drink.

ALICE had a lot of fun in the bookstores in Thamel, Kathmandu, Nepal as well as in Pokhara.  Here she is selecting some for her grandsons.  She spent hours in these stores while I went out and did other shopping.
