4 am cleaning off the car; bkfst with friends, and then picking up some of my boss’s family, and birding. Obviously we could set up the scope on the road, since it was flooded and nobody was going on past this point. Saw many birds, but only one new bird! It always felt good to get back in to the car, to travel to the next site.
Crocuses are blooming; Love is in the air!

Several weeks ago, a fellow employee, where I work quit working. Soon I heard she was dating an employee!! That same week, I picked up some taxi customers, and the daughter had her boyfriend with her! He looked familiar, and I realized he was the son of another customer. What a surprise to find out they had just started dating! Also on Thursday evening this week, I saw a male Woodcock putting on an aerial performance to try and impress a female woodcock! Spring is welcome, though the Calendar and weather forecast say it isn’t here yet!

My wife and I walked the trail near Millersburg this morning. The Killbuck Creek was full to the banks, the deer were inquisitive, and the birds active. I finally saw a Pileated Woodpecker up close. On my mobile I showed my wife what the woodpecker looked like, and sounded like. Within 100 yards of where existed the trail a Pileated Woodpecker crossed the trail right in front of us, and landed on a tree nearby! That was special.

Not sure what his feelings are?

This Anhinga caught this fish and was trying hard to swallow it, but dropped, and it go away! Will he tell the family this evening about the big fish, that got away?

I was glad to see this Black-necked Stilt at the Myakka River State Park in Florida, on Monday. Upon returning home, it was as I suspected, and it was not a “lifer” for me, since it had showed up in Ohio, last year. A “lifer” for the non-birders means it is the first time you have seen that bird. I think the 16 “lifers,” I saw on vacation in Florida brings my life list up to 245 on eBird. I have around 60 species that I observed in India, that I haven’t put on eBird yet. Have a great day!

Many of these Parakeets are flying around here, in Pincraft, Sarasota, Florida! Brings back memories of Bangladesh! I had to take a photo of my laptop screen, because we don’t have an internet connection at this time!

A Great White Egret one of many birds we saw!

I am quite sure this is the first I have had a Hairy Woodpecker at my feeders! A nice surprise!
