No Need for an Invitation

via Daily Prompt: Invitation

We didn’t need an invitation to go to my 93 yr-old mother’s house for breakfast!  She always had the table set and ready to go! Note the “F” on the melmac plate!  She had ordered plates when we were “back on the farm” with each of our initials, and some extra for her! Nostalgia!

Our middle grandson (15), trying to outrun the Massillon Tigers players. I (Videographer), for this game am relaxing at the blue barrel, since my camcorder battery went dead with 90 seconds remaining on the clock. It was a sweet victory for  the Mckinley Bulldogs, routing the Massillon team 8-1 in the last game of the season. I can’t forget to give my dear wife credit for this photo, since she grabbed my camera and took some photos, while I was videoing the match. The oldest grandson did score one goal, though he was playing fullback!

Our youngest grandson (green t-shirt) dribbling the ball for the Canton middle school team. He managed to score a goal on a free kick, but the Fairless team won the match 5-3. Better luck next year.

The morning of Christmas, 2015, our family came to the table and this is what was in store for them. In the 50’s this was the extent of our Christmas gifts. Each person had something on their breakfast plate! I decided to throw in a flashlight which would have been splurging in the yesteryear! Mounds was always my favorite candy bar.  The Bounty bar available in Bangladesh is very similar. It was also different, celebrating Christmas in Fort Myers Beach in Florida!  The personal napkin “rings” were a contribution of my 92-yr-old Mother!
