My 95-year-old mother is stretching out the anticipation as she marvels at the wrapping paper on her gifts. I told her if she doesn’t hurry up, it will be Christmas till she gets the gifts opened! Of course it was Christmas! She had so much fun, as we also did, watching her excitement!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas to all our friends, whether virtual or otherwise! Trusting it will be a time of joy, hope and peace as many of you will be surrounded by family and loved ones.

Mixed feelings for us with funerals this week for a cousin, and a cousin’s husband. Christmas to remind us of the greatest gift of all, When God sent us his Son!!! The week will culminate with the wedding of a good friend! So may God give comfort to those that need comforting this season!

She saw the angel Gabriel!

I tried to post a 24 second video of the beginning of this 8 minute speech where my talented wife portrayed Mary the Mother of Jesus’s thoughts when 70 years old! My theme does not import videos. Does that mean I should upgrade. I guess If you want to see the video clip you will have to go to Facebook! Hope your Christmas Eve is a special time of celebrating with family/and/or friends!

A nice display at the assisted living facility where my mother lives!

One of my favorite pies, and my wife does a bang-up job of baking it. We enjoyed it on Thanksgiving Day!!  I had a request for the recipe, so I hope in the editing it is posted again!

Cream the butter and sugar: add spices and salt.  Stir in the corn syrup.  Add the eggs, one at a time, stirring well after each addition.  Stir in the oatmeal and pour into the pie shell.  Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about an hour, or till a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Some great Canadian friends, and memories!

For a Mother’s Day meal the Father’s did the meal, and this was my contribution! Being married to the world’s best baker, surely gave me an edge in this new endeavor!
