Day 258

TWO BIHARI MEN SPLITTING WOOD near the Geneva Camp, College Gate, Mohammadpur, Dhaka, Bangladesh.

THE PINK COLOR MAKES THIS CNG STAND OUT from all the green CNGs in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This one was seen parked near the Geneva Bihari camp.

Day 249

BIDESHIS COMING DOWN THE BARIBANS WEST OF MOHAMMADPUR, DHAKA.

Buckin’ the Wind!

Day 245

VEGETABLE STAND IS BEING SET UP FOR THE DAY’S SALES in Town Hall Market, Mohammadpur.

Day 244

TTLER ADDA  AT THE DHANMONDI RABINDRA SHOROBOR.  I found this definition for an adda:  A common place where close friends hangout. Its usually close to the college they attend and generally convenient for the rest of the boys to get there.
Its usually a bakery, Coffee day, restaurant or small shops run by frustrated people or nice people.

For this adda we just hung around the outside ampitheater and chatted, ate chanachur and drank ginger tea.  We sometimes have photo addas where we critique each others photos.

Day 242

EID MUBARAK TO ALL MY MUSLIM FRIENDS!  Ramadan is over, and back to a normal eating and sleeping schedule.  Of course this is after a day of celebrating today!  Going to a friend’s house, or inviting someone over for an Eid meal.  A special day with special people and with some special food.  Read more about this holiday at:  http://islam.about.com/od/ramadan/f/eid_fitr.htm

Day 212

HERE I AM WITH A CATFISH THAT my friend Halim bought for me from some fisherman.  Looking forward to a great curry dish soon.

Day 209

BAILEY DRAWS A CROWD ON THE west side of Dhaka near my friend Halim’s fish farms.  The last 26 days was a busy time with Bailey, but I suspect this will be the last photo of Bailey for awhile.  It seemed in a way like a 26 day family reunion, though besides us, Bailey was the only family member who arrived!

Day 189

BAILEY WITH A THRONG OF PEOPLE ON WALKOVER  at Farmgate the busiest intersection in Dhaka.  Probably more people move through this intersection in a day than the population of Denmark!

MY NIECE BAILEY, STANDING IN FRONT OF VEGETABLE STAND in Town Hall Market where I buy most of my vegetables.

BAILEY AND I ON A RICKSHAW being photographed by a willing bystander.

Day 186

YESTERDAY I TOOK MY NIECE, BAILEY, to the Bihari camp where  our house-helper, Shaheen lives.  This is a photo of Bailey with Shaheen’s niece.  The niece is holding the polaroid photo Bailey took of her.
