Corn Farmers’ Measuring Stick
“Knee High by the Fourth of July” is an old saying once used by farmers to measure the success of their corn crops. Years ago, if corn had grown knee–high by Independence Day, it was a good sign and meant they could count on high yields for the year.
It looks like a great corn harvest this fall.
It is still hay-making season!

Hope you are all feeling loved today! May those who have lost a companion, have close friends to comfort them during this holiday. This is the 55th Valentine’s Day that my wife and I have celebrated, the first three times were while we were courting!!
This old barn along this country road has seen better days, and is likely not a great place to explore!
Now is not the greatest time to come to take photos of the clock tower on our Courthouse in Millersburg. Renovations are happening.
