SOMETIME IN OUR FIRST YEAR I PICKED UP THIS STICKER AT PIZZA HUT”S CELEBRATION OF 5 YEARS IN BANGLADESH!
I hoped to be able to celebrate 5 years in Bangladesh like Pizza Hut did.
We celebrated by bringing in Chinese food from the Midnight Sun restaurant.
Danae, here is the recipe you requested! Note it has quite a few variations from the recipe I sent on Facebook. I just finished eating one and thought I would like it a little sweeter, but you know I like anything sweeter than most folks. Alice just told me she wanted something fat free, sugar free and high fiber, and is still experimenting.
2 C. Mashed Bananas 1/2 C. Whole Wheat Flour
1 1/2 C. Oatmeal 3 tsp. Baking Soda
1/2 tsp. Salt 3 Eggs
1 C. Yogurt 1/2 C. Honey
1 C. Roasted Chopped Pecans 1 1/2 tsp. Vanilla
2 C. Bran
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine dry ingredients. In another bowl, mix the bananas
with the liquids and stir into the dry ingredients, just until moistened. If the final mixture
doesn’t seem dry enough add some more flour. Spoon into greased muffin tins and bake
until light brown, about 20 minutes.
I was going to feature today’s blue moon, but decided to post the muffin recipe instead. The moon doesn’t really look blue but was given this name because it was an extra full moon and needed a name. It refers either to the second full moon in a month (This month on August 1 and 31), or the 4th one in a season (Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall). The moon cycle is 29.5 days. With either method the next one will be in 2015. This is why there is the saying, “It only happens once in a blue moon (Every 2-3 years)!”

It was special to go to Platinum Suites in Banani with my good friend for their breakfast buffet! The buffet included omelets, beef bhuna, chicken sausage, pancakes, sauteed potatoes, alu bhuna, conjee soup and other items.
DIPTI AND JAMES, WITH THEIR 8-MONTH OLD DAUGHTER SOPHIA VISITED IN OUR HOME LAST EVENING. James gave me a copy of “Bangladesh NATURE QUEST,” WHICH IN THIS March-May 2012 issue feature an article of his entitled, “The Padma, A place for all seasons! Good work, James! For the evening meal, my dear wife Alice treated us with french fries, french pizza, salad, hot veggies, a fresh veggie plate, and a delicious trifle dessert.
I would love to get feedback on how you like the new theme I am using with header: Twenty-Ten.
