Seeing these items on the shelf of a furniture store brought back memories of “Days Gone By”!

This is a photo of me taking a photo at the Bangladesh National Martyr’s Monument in Savar. I say farewell, because we have a flight scheduled to return home to the USA on March 23. The three months here, felt like we had never left. So many memories, and good friends in Bangladesh.

Thinking of my mother today, since it is the anniversary of the day, a year ago, that we laid her to rest! She taught us the love of puzzling, which is a pleasant memory I had putting puzzles together with my sister, Lillian in August of this year, while vacationing in California!

Thinking about Mom today, since it is the first year that we don’t have Mom here to celebrate her birthday! It would have been her 99th birthday! It is also a memorable day, since it is the day, 17 years ago that we buried my father! So many memories! Facebook even reminded me that today was Mom’s 99th birthday. Of course, I didn’t need the reminder. This photo was taken at her younger sister’s funeral.

Brings back memories of growing up on an Iowa farm, where we raised purebred Suffolk sheep!

Relaxing at a Hotel on the way home from a 8 day trip to Kansas for a wedding, and catching up with cousins! It was a wonderful time. Don’t forget the importance of your relationships with extended family! Whether you share few or many memories, it is a good time to reminisce about the past with stories of your parents, grandparents, etc. We will arrive at home this evening, and get into our routine again!
Wikipedia: Frida (with variants Freda, Freedia, Frieda and Freida) is a feminine given name. In Scandinavian countries, it derives from the Old Norse name Fríða, meaning“beautiful, beloved”. In central and eastern Europe, Frida is a short form of compound names containing the Germanic element fried meaning “peace”.
I always thought my aunt was beautiful and beloved, and with her there was always peace. I remember attending her wedding when I was 10 years old. Special memories! We always had a lot of fun together. She liked to tease me! They say, that means she liked me a lot! A special memory was when we traveled together after Thanksgiving of 2015, to see her son’s family in New York, which included seeing a newborn grandchild!
Frieda, rest in peace!
IT’S NICE TO SEE THAT STRAWBERRIES ARE AVAILABLE IN BANGLADESH. I remember in my teen years, some days picking 100 quart in a morning. My parents yearly had anywhere from 2-6 acres of strawberries. These berries sure were delicious over “soft” ice cream. With the temps these days it doesn’t take long for ice cream to get soft outside of the freezer! Almost makes you think you are eating “Dairy Queen” ice cream!
