A potential for many great curry meals!

Fav Meal

What’s your favorite meal to cook and/or eat? For sure a favorite meal would be a Bengali meal.

Tops on the list would be the Nan Ruti, Dal Bhaji meal topped off with a cup of cha! Any curry meal would run second! Yesterday I was privileged to have both of these meals! Note the salad with my breakfast Nan meal, which was four slices of cucumber, a lemon slice, and a hot pepper!

Nice Bengali Meal

A special treat from our hostess!

My daughter-in-law did a great job of preparing this tasty dish. It was for our youngest grandson’s 16th birthday celebration!!

A fusion of Elk meat chunks and a classic North Indian mild curry made with yogurt, tomato paste, ginger, garlic and traditional Indian spices.

My grandson knows I love Cha! I suspect most every day for 7 years, I had at least one cup of cha, while in Bangladesh. At my grandson’s grad party it was being offered as one of the hot drinks!  If I would have shut my eyes, I could have imagined myself in Dhaka. It was a similar feeling I had when eating the delightful chicken curry, my daughter-in-law prepared for the party! I confess, I stayed away from the delicious assortment of cookies my dear wife baked, though I indulged in the cheese and meat she so nicely arranged on a plate! And the spicy hot cheese ball was excellent! The loaves of French my wife baked were also a hit, of course with different choices of jam, including strawberry.

September 4 is a day which I will always remember.  It is my mother’s birthday, and she is now 91 years old!  It is also the day we buried my father, 9 years ago!

Day 195

MUTTON CURRY, a very tasty Bengali dish was prepared by my friend’s (fellow footballer) Mother for all the football players to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.  We ate this along with porotas and a special cake.  Halim’s Mother is a wonderful cook.  I’ve had two meals in their home, and he just called last night and wants me to come sometime and bring my wife.

Mutton curry!
